Maintaining your health by laughter [PR for Fukui]

It is said that laughter has great influence on one's mental and physical health. It is also reported that laughing increases ones' resistance to fight back to cancer and keep down hyperglycemia of diabetic. Many other results from experiments have been reported as well. Fukui Prefecture has cooperated with Kansai University and held the Fifth "Kandai Fukui Warai Ko" (laughing lecture) on the 14th of this month, for everyone to make laughter helpful for their health.

 

First, Prof. Shinya Morishita from Kansai University conducted a keynote lecture with a title "Japanese First Laughter" at the hall. He introduced stories related the power of laughter from Kijiki (records of ancient matters).
Also there were comic chats which were performed by a student from Kansai University, and Tsuyuno Miyako who is an award winner of Fukui Female Rakugoka (traditional Japanese comedian in Japan) contest of last year and became the first female Rakugoka. Everyone had great time.

 

Moreover, an expert had a special lecture about how to make children smile. A male nursery teacher from Kobe City and researchers from NPO corporation who researches and develop a machine to measure laughter had lecture with a theme "useful laughter and humor for raising children". They explained how to make children laugh and communicate with them. Also, an art therapist from Kobe City conducted a lecture with a theme "let's make children smile with the magic of colors". She introduced how to understand children's feelings through their drawings with using colored pencils and crayons.
