The world of delicate beauty(Yugen)

2015.05.18

Places to visit

I visited Eihei-ji Temple located about 16 kilometers southeast of Fukui city.

This temple was founded by Zen Master Dogen Zenji 770 years ago as the education and training center for Zen monks.

There were few visitors in the drizzling rain and therefore, I could enter the world of delicate beauty(Yugen) , stillness and quietness for a while.

GEN introduced Eiheiji Tmple by the title of “We have Eiheiji in Fukui” and “White Healing”(Japanese version only) presented by the cities in Fukui is also informative.

When you come to Fukui Pref.- home to a wealth of traditions, please visit there to understand the Japanese Buddhism culture deeply.

Sleeping cute lesser pandas in Nishiyama Park, Sabae City

2015.05.07

Places to visit

I've been to Nishiyama Park in Sabae City today. It's well known for azalea flowers all over the park just in this time of the year.

Though the Golden Week holidays were over yesterday, there were already a lot of people and I had to manage to find a parking place.

Nishiyama Park is also known for cute lesser pandas, but I found all of them sleeping in a shaded place.

I know, it should be rather too hot for them today. However, they are so cute even when they are sleeping, aren't they.

Moss phlox

2015.04.26

Places to visit

I went to Hitsuji-yama Park in Chichibu city, Saitama Pref, about 1.5hours from the center of Tokyo Metropolitan city by train. Hitsuji stands for Sheep and Yama for mountain in Japanese. This park is famous not for number of sheeps but for beautiful different colors of moss phlox. When I visited, about 80% of flowers bloomed. And they will be in full bloom in a couple of days. You can enjoy these beatiful flowers by the 2nd week of May. If you have a chance and time, please visit not in the weekend but in the weekday. Why not in the weekend? Because you can only take photos of visitors.
