Gobou-ko |Burdock Roots Eating Festival is a traditional event since the Edo Period. The day before the festival, they prepare the dishes of some burdock roots and the next day, the feast is held by men only. Here is the video of the 313th Gobou-ko.

On each tray, there are "beaten boiled burdock roots" and "5 go(180ml x 5) of pressed and heaped bowl of rice". It is a custom that they eat a bit and take home most of them for their family.
