Owara-Kaze-no-Bon Festival is held from September 1st to 3rd every year in Yatsuo, Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture. This video shows a dance in Shimoshin-machi. (The video was taken on September 1st, 2019)
The Shimoshin-machi is a town located at the entrance from Fukujima to the old towns, where there were many shops along the sloping street. There is the Hachiman-jinja Shrine at the middle of the street, where is the main venue that floats are dedicated during the annual spring festival. The dance of the town features vermilion-based color kimono of the female dancers.

Q: Why do Owara dancers wear wicker hats deep on their heads?
A: Around the time when the Owara-Kaze-no-Bon started, it is said that people used to dance hiding their faces with Japanese towels from embarrassment. Now, although the towels turned into wicker hats, they wear the hats deeply and nearly cover their entire faces.
