Ms. Sonam Choki, a college student from Bhutan arrived in Fukui on January 20th, 2018.
9 years ago, a photographer, Munekazu Matta visited Bhutan. He took a photograph of a girl who was on her way home from school by chance. He didn’t know her name nor her address.
Since the photograph was used for the poster of Bhutan Museum Fukui, people who were involved with Bhutan Museum Fukui did everything they could to find her.
Finally, with help from the Bhutan Royal secretary’s office they found her in 2017. The girl was Ms. Sonam Choki.
Genji Nosaka, former director of “Bhutan Museum Fukui”
invited her to Fukui. She has been staying in Fukui since January 20th, 2018 for about one month.

Lunch at “Hanakono Ie (Hanako’s house)”, serving homemade Japanese comfort food. Located in the downtown area of Fukui City called Katamachi, it is only a 15-minute walk from Fukui Station. She liked the miso soup the best.
