Mr. Ugyen Dorji and his family members (his wife, son and sister) and staff from Bhutan museums Fukui.
In April of 2018, I went to Hanami (a Japanese flower viewing tradition) with Mr. Ugyen Dorji and his family. Mr. Ugyen Dorji is from Bhutan and he’s studying as a teacher trainee at University of Fukui. His family arrived at the end of March. They had the first Hanami experience in Fukui City.
Since it had been six months since the last time Mr. Ugyen Dorji and his family saw each otherd, Mr. Ugyen Dorji was worried that his son who is only two years old would not remember Mr. Ugyen Dorji. He remembered his father so Mr. Ugyen Dorji was very happy.
They had seen cherry blossoms in movies and TV but they had never seen the real ones. They were amazed to see the real cherry blossoms.
We enjoyed walking on the pathway along Asuwa River in Fukui City. The river flows through the center of Fukui City. And the pathway along the river was selected as one of the 100 best places for Sakura (cherry blossom) viewing in Japan. Mr. Ugyen Dorji and his family were enchanted by the extremely beautiful cherry blossoms that were in full bloom.
We also went to see replicas of real dinosaurs in front of Fukui Station and enjoyed walking in Fukui City.
