How to wear a Kira: Bhutanese traditional female costume

 

Sonam Choki, who came to Japan last year and living in Fukui City, showed how to wear a Kira at Bhutan Museum. Kira is a Bhutanese traditional female costume, which is wrapped a rectangular cloth around the body and tied a belt called Kera. Then, it is worn with a jacket called Tego and a blouse called Wongu. In this video, she is wearing a Half Kira. In Bhutan, people are obliged to wear their traditional costumes at schools and offices.
