Wave on the pavement

2015.06.10

Life in Fukui

Looking down from my office, I found an artwork on the pavement.

There was a continuous wave along the yellow line of textured paving block for the visually impaired.

It seems that the wave has no practical function,

so I guess someone should have thought that the pavement was in need of decoration.

I noticed this pattern for the first time after all these years.

Life in Fukui

The restoration work of "Yamazatoguchi-gomon gate" is being carried out
around the "Goroka-bashi bridge" of the ruins of Fukui castle,
and now we can see some curious sights.

The moat is partly dried up for the construction traffic,
and some stacking stones of the stone wall are removed for the construction of the replica gate.
