An intersection without a green light

2015.04.15

Life in Fukui

Such kind of traffic lights are increasing these days here in Fukui city.

If you're going to cross on a green light, you may hesitate to step on the gas pedal for a moment.

Just to tell you, the yellow arrow is the signal only for streetcars.

Life in Fukui

In spring and autumn, a light-up event is held at Atago stairs in Fukui city.

People of volunteers set fire to the candles. And they light up the stone steps fantastically.

This event will be held until April 19.

Please come by all means once.

The best Fukui's PR ever

2015.04.03

Life in Fukui

I am so happy that Tsuruga Kehi High School in Fukui Prefecture won the National High School Baseball Tournament. What a nice feeling! I sure could get used to this. They also helped raise the profile of Fukui. I would like to say a big thank you to all the members of the team. By the way, the attached pic is a bag with a good design of Fukui which I found lately. Carrying a bag like this is another good PR for Fukui, isn’t it?

Life in Fukui

Plum trees with pink or white blossoms are in bloom together at a park.
It is still cold today.
Cherry trees are bud now, but after two weeks it will be the season of cherry blossoms also in Fukui.

It's hailing!

Life in Fukui

on cold February day in Fukui city

They say cherry blossoms begin to bloom on the news, but it's very cold here in Fukui today just as we' re back to winter again.

However, the photo above was taken in the central part of Fukui city,  on a cold day like today in February.

I hope spring comes back very soon.
