Natsuo Ariake was born in Osaka in 1936.
During the war, he moved to Fukui Prefecture for safety at the age of eight
and spent his youth there.
He received Naoki Award for his period novel "Dai-Naniwa Shonin Ourai" in 1979.

 


Natsuo Ariake published novels which were set in Fukui Prefecture.
One of them, “The march of us”, which was set in Fukui city in 1954.
This novel was made into a film and actually it was filmed on location in Fukui City.
