We will introduce the writer Yukei Tada, who won Akutagawa Prize for "Yangtze Delta"
for the first time in Fukui Prefecture.

 


He was born in Fukui City in 1912.
In the midst of World War II, he went to Shanghai,China, he expressed well about
the anguish of people who lived through the times of turmoil in the novel “Yangtze Delta” and he won the Akutagawa Prize at the young age of 29.

 

He lost his house by Fukui earthquake and even after leaving hometown, he formed “Association of Writers from Fukui” with writers from Fukui. Also, he kept having
a connection with Fukui that he created seven school songs in Fukui Prefecture
such as his old elementary school.
