We introduce the Wakasa Wada Beach, where is located in Takahama Town, Oi County, Fukui Prefecture. (The video is from YouTube channel of Fukui Prefectural Tourism Federation)

 

The Wakasa Wada Beach met strict requirements, and it was qualified for Blue Flag for the first time in Asia in 2016. The beach is very popular featuring shallow clear water and white sands. The waves are gentle, so you can swim easily. And during the season the beach is open, lifeguards are always there. So it is also a safe and secure beach. On the beach, various activities are available including a new marine sport SUP, life saving experience and observations of living creatures of the sea. The scenery is also wonderful and Mt. Aoba, which is called Wakasa Fuji, and Hasegi Island can be viewed. The beach is chosen as one of Japan's best 100 sunset locations.

Now there are about 4,000 Blue Flag beaches and marines in about 50 countries around the world. And, the Wakasa Wada Beach is attracting more attention.
