Eiheiji Dam and Lake Daibutsu
At a glance, the dam looks straight and simple, but as I approached it,
I found it had various designs associated with Eiheiji Temple.
Particularly, the two spillways for emergency and the regular one are the prominent features.
Looking at Eiheiji Dam from below is just like a huge robot hiding in the mountains.

The sign of Eiheiji Dam on National Route 364
The way to Eiheiji Dam may not so easy to find. When you go there from Fukui City, National Route 364 bends to the right at the traffic light right before Eiheiji Temple and you will soon find a sign of Eiheiji Temple. Turn left at the sign and go to the back of the parking lot beside a shrine and leads to the road to the dam.
“Dams in Fukui viewed from drone” is a project that introduces dams in Fukui Prefecture through videos with concept of “Moving dam cards”.
