It is a well-formed dam which has three crest gates at the center of the dam body.
It features the spillway tunnel which was newly built from 1972 to 1977 on the right bank after heavy rains in Okuetsu area in 1965. You can see the big gate at a little distance from the dam body. It is a secluded dam nestled quietly deep in the mountains.

That day, the water was still a little muddy because of the typhoon which wreaked havoc in late October. On the lower part of the picture, there is the monitoring facility where they distribute the Dam Card.
