I visited the Okuetsu Highland Ranch located in Ono City (partly in Katsuyama City), Fukui Prefecture to take a video of the open-range cattle by a drone. I took it after 5 p.m. because cattle are active in the late afternoon or later. I heard that they usually stay still under trees in the hot daytime.
The Okuetsu Highland Ranch spreads across Rokuroshi Highland.
Its main facilities are located on the top of the ranch. The upper left in the photo is the administrative office.
The cattle are curious about a drone.
In the ranch, there are many lava called “Buku-ishi” blown off by an eruption of Mt. Kyogatake.
You can see Mt. Arashimadake very well, which is one of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan.
