The self-driving vehicle is running from the Aratani stop for the Shihi stop in front of Eiheiji Temple.

The demonstration experiments of the self-driving vehicles have been held from June 24th to December 20th, 2019 in Eiheiji Town, Fukui Prefecture. I boarded the vehicle on November 26th. The fare is free. Although there is a driver, he doesn't operate steering wheel and brake. The vehicles run slowly at 19 km/h, which fits the surrounding scenery.

The Aratani stop is located about 100 meters from Dansuke's head store, which has a free parking lot for users to ride the self-driving vehicles.

The vehicles run along electromagnetic induction lines that embedded in the road. The driver doesn't hold the wheel.

This is the route of opposite direction of Eiheiji Temple, which is for Higashi-furuichi stop in front of Eiheiji-guchi Station of Echizen Railway.
