Hiking in the mountains in Fukui | One of Echizen Five Mountains: Mt. Yoshinogatake, January 13th, 2019

I climbed Mt. Yoshigatake located in Eiheiji Town, Yoshida County, Fukui Prefecture in January, 2019. It is one of the Echizen Five Mountains, which are said to have opened by Taicho, and I met several climbers that day. Compared to Mt. Monju, another one of the Echizen Five Mountains, it seems like there are fewer climbers. But the view at the top is wonderful despite it is a low mountain that is 547 meters high. It was favored by good weather unlike winter in Hokuriku and I was able to enjoy the great view from the Fukui Plain to Mt. Hakusan.

Passing through Yoshino Village, there is a shrine gate of Zao Daigongen. Here is the trail entrance. Walking several dozen meters along the right trail, there is the Senju Kannon and the parking space for several cars.

The view from the open field of the top of Mt. Yoshinogatake. You can enjoy a full view of the Fukui Plain.

You get a nice view of Mt. Hakusan from the Hakusan observatory located a short walk from the top.
