WORLDON CUP 2015 in Fukui

On both March 14 and 15, 2015 when Hokuriku area was excited about the opening of Hokuriku Shinkansen, the first "WORLDON CUP" was held in Fukui City.
"WORLDON CUP" is a food festival in the aim of promoting rice bowl dishes'appeal all over Japan.
This time 21 rice bowl dishes from all over Japan, including 9 ones that won the gold prize in a nationwide contest, were served.
At the opening ceremony, the governer of Fukui, the participants and the executive committee members made a toast raising their bowls.
The site was "Streetcar Street" in front of Fukui Station. On the day, the street was free of vehicle, tents were set up and a lot of customers visited. In particular, popular stores soon had a long line.
